Virtual Reality

We use two systems for an immersive building experience. For 3D world immersion (VR) we use the Meta Quest 2 as mobile solution and the Meta Quest Pro as stationary solution, for 3D holography (AR) we use the Microsoft HoloLens.

Each device has a designated A-lab account corresponding to its usage and number: VR1 = VR-01@A-LAB.NO VR2 = VR-02@A-LAB.NO ... VR8 = VR-08@A-LAB.NO

AR1 = AR-01.ALAB@OUTLOOK.COM (Microsoft) / AR-01@A-LAB.NO (Trimble) AR2 = AR-02.ALAB@OUTLOOK.COM (Microsoft) / AR-02@A-LAB.NO (Trimble)

For seamless access, all devices, both VR and AR, share standardized login credentials: Username: as written above Password: Arkitekt2022* PIN: 1705 (for VR) / 170505 (for AR)

To maintain a flawless experience we have defined dedicated use-cases for our different devices.

For lightweight 360° renders, opt for devices VR-01, VR-02, VR-03, and VR-04. These white Quest 2 units stationed on the shelf are your go-to for on-the-go immersion. There's no need for a complicated connection to a workstation - just ensure they're connected to the internet! They're always plugged to the charger, but remember to check the controllers' battery levels before heading out to meet a client.

For heavy model inspections or texture-heavy renders, use the power of stationary devices VR-05, VR-06, and VR-07. These black Quest Pro units on the desk are designed for high-performance, tethered experiences. The devices and controllers are always charged via their cradles and connected to their dedicated workstations with a 5m cable to give you the greatest freedom of movement.

Please always remember to put the Quest Pro back in the cradle / plug the Quest 2 into the charging cable when you're done. The next users will appreciate having fully charged devices.

If you need to book the VR-room or the headsets for a customer visit, please enter it in Outlook. We have set up the meeting room VR-rom for this purpose. Please make sure to always CC Angie and Matthaus.
