This guide shows the principles on how to divide a Revit project and when it is necessary. A Revit model should be divided into sub-models if there are:
Files larger than 200MB
Detached buildings / building blocks
Every model can only contain buildings that have identical floor heights
Different building construction phases
Where multiple models make up a single project, a container model should be considered.
